BENTON COUNTY LIBRARY ELECTRONIC ACCESS

 

The Benton County Library has over 2,000 potential library cards waiting for our students! Students needing a library card simply call the Benton County Library at 731.584.4772. The library will need the student's full name, date of birth, and address. Then, the student will receive a library card and can gain access to lots of online books with the "Libby" app. Students will be given an electronic code. Students will follow the directions on the app.

A parents’ corner offers advice on everything from how to create an art space in your home, to simple art activities to set up for after-school projects.
Freerice.com   This site takes learning and turns it into fun games. Students can choose from activities in the Math Arcade, read books and comics, play educational games in the Fun Arcade, or just have fun with an adult in the Moms’ and Kids’ Playground.
Funbrain.com   This nonprofit was launched in 2013, with the mission statement, “Every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science.” Sections are separated by activities for students to try and lessons for teachers, plus tutorials cover everything from learning JavaScript to making your own apps and games.
Weareteachers.com   With content written by teachers, this site offers everything you need to stay productive (and sane!) throughout the school year. Topics are arranged by category, including arts and creativity, classroom management, deals and discounts, and professional development. A teacher helpline offers advice from people who’ve been in your shoes.
Pbslearningmedia.org   From searchable Common Core and national standards to activities that support math, science, social studies, and ELA, this site delivers comprehensive digital resources for your classroom. Features include videos, shareable documents, and in-depth lesson plans
Pepnonprofit.org   This is the site of The Positive Engagement Project, a non-profit focused on equipping teachers with tools to help students become positively engaged in active learning. Free downloads include a variety of categories, from English language arts to character development, and test-taking strategies. The site also includes downloads to target sight words, vocabulary, literacy, and math.

Sciencebob.com   “Science Bob” Pflugfelder, a science teacher and author, started this site to encourage parents and teachers to practice “Random Acts of Science.” He makes it easy with clear instructions, entertaining videos, and more.
Teachertube.com   Bring education to life in your classroom with videos that will engage your students. This online sharing community offers a variety of options for incorporating videos into your curriculum. You can create a playlist to correspond to your lesson plan or search for videos by elementary, middle, or high school levels, as well as by subject.
Themeasuredmom.com   This blog, created by a teacher with a background in curriculum and instruction, offers articles, hands-on lessons, and hundreds of printables for teachers and parents. Most resources are free and focus on literacy, but the site also includes help for teaching math, science, and social studies to children in preschool through second grade.
GoNoodle for Families   This is a fun and educational site that uses videos to help children learn any number of concepts.

GREATSCHOOLS ALL, PreK-12 This site presents actionable, research-based parenting information, including articles, videos, podcasts, and interactive tips, to help parents engage with and support their children’s academic and social-emotional development at every grade and stage from preK through 12th grade.
STARFALL.COM ELA and MATH, PreK-3 This site is has Math and ELA activities for PreK-3 students.
SCHOLASTIC WRITING PROMPTS WRITING, PreK-5 This site, which is geared toward grades K-6 writing, is a fun and engaging way to help students develop and refine their writing skills.
MYSTERYSCIENCE.COM SCIENCE, K-5 This site, which is geared toward grades K-5 science, is a fun and engaging way to hep students develop interest in science-related activities.
BRAINPOP.COM ALL, 4-12 With extensive multimedia content over virtually all areas of the curriculum, BrainPop, which is geared for grades 4-12, is a site that Benton County provides for its students. School login information can be used, or you can use the free access during this closure.
BRAINPOPJR.COM ALL, K-3 This site is just like BrainPop. Only it is geared for grades K-3. Again, use school login information, or enjoy the free access during this closure.
VOCABULARY.COM ALL, 5-12 With Vocabulary.com, students independently learn the words they need to know for deeper reading, clearer writing, and sharper thinking. This is a site that Benton County provides for its students.
ACCELERATED READER ALL, K-12 Once students reach the site, login should be similar to what they are accustomed to at school.  Please note that passwords remained the same with the exception of now all letters are lowercase.  Additionally, there are no symbols in passwords such as @, &, !, etc. 
ONLINE SCIENCE TEXTBOOK SCIENCE, K-5 This is the link to our McGraw-Hill Science textbook. Login information is needed.
SHEPPARD SOFTWARE ALL, PreK-12

At this educational website, they have hundreds of free, online, learning games for kids. But anyone interested in online learning can use this site - they have so many subjects - (geography, math, animals, science, language arts, creative activities, health) and lots of levels for all abilities - loads of games and activities for learners of any age.

ONLINE SOCIAL STUDIES TEXTBOOK SOCIAL STUDIES, K-5 This is the link to our Gallopade Social Studies textbook. Login information is needed.
VIRTUAL MUSEUM TOURS ALL, PreK-12 This site, which is on Yahoo and could change at anytime, has links to several museums across the world that have free virtual tours.
READYROSIE BIRTH - GRADE 3 The ReadyRosie platform will be available for Tennessee families from April 1 through September 1. Families can easily register for free starting March 31 and can sign up to receive weekly text messages or emails with curated playlists of activities.

BENCHMARK EDUCATION ELA, SCIENCE, SOCIAL STUDIES Provides the state of Tennessee access to a robust library of interactive eBooks with audio on the Benchmark Universe platform for students in grades K through 6. With this eBook library, students can listen to books and read books of their choice as they explore a variety of genres and text types.
BOOKWORMS ELA, K-5 This curriculum was reviewed for Tennessee’s 2019 adoption but was not selected. Since that time, the publisher has revamped options, and districts may find some valuable resources for planning home-based learning experiences for literacy.

PEARSON K-12 ALL Pearson K12 customers can to fully utilize Pearson Realize™, our powerful one-stop digital platform that provides teachers the tools for remote instruction by enabling them to have access to their Pearson K-12 content, as well as assign and track student work, organize lesson plans, and monitor student progress. Realize offers flexible classroom management tools that allow educators to access thousands of learning resources; customize, rearrange and upload their content; create a playlist; add links to online media; and edit assessments.
READINGBEAR EARLY LITERACY SKILLS/PHONICS A project of WatchKnowLearn.org, Reading Bear is a free program online to teach beginning readers vocabulary and concepts while systematically introducing all the main phonetic patterns of written English, all using innovative rich media.

TN DIGITAL ALL An online repository of all of the State of Tennessee’s open access learning materials. TN Digital is working with all approved TN publishers to supply teachers, students, parents, and administrators with easy access to learning materials, which includes everything from lesson plans to worksheets, and from educational videos to assessments. TN Digital is owned and operated by Tennessee Book Company through their digital arm, Thrivist. Full access is available through via the link posted in the resource column and can search for lessons, publishers, and videos. ZEARN MATH, K-5 This fully digital curriculum with internal progress monitoring for teachers is available at no cost during current school closures. Access requires a district, school, or individual account. Printable homework aligned to each module is available with teacher accounts.
