The Benton County School System is committed to having students reach their highest levels of academic and personal performance. The Benton County Board of Education and its employees attempt to provide effective instructional leadership, responsible fiscal management, and a healthy learning environment for all students. The goal of the school district is that students be prepared to ultimately be successful and productive citizens in our democratic society. All children with disabilities residing in the state, including children with disabilities who are homeless children or are wards of the state, and children with disabilities attending private schools, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located and evaluated; and a practical method is developed and implemented to determine which children are currently receiving needed special education and related services. A proportionate share of IDEA dollars is set aside to provide services to eligible parentally-placed private school children.
